Anthony Aouni Tamer, born in 1957, is an American billionaire businessman and the co-founder and co-CEO of H.I.G. Capital, a global private equity and alternative asset investment firm that manages $48 billion in equity capital. He has previously worked at companies such as Bain & Company, Hewlett-Packard, and Sprint Corporation. As of May 2021, Forbes magazine lists him as the 638th richest person in the world with a net worth of $4.5 billion. Tony Tamer holds an MBA degree from Harvard Business School and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University, with an undergraduate degree from Rutgers University.

Tony Tamer is married and a father of four daughters. His wife, Sandra, holds a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and serves on the boards of Action Against Hunger, the RMF Foundation, the PAMM Museum, and the Tamer Center for Social Enterprise at Columbia University. Tony Tamer began his career at Hewlett-Packard in various engineering, marketing, and production positions before working at Sprint Corporation.
