Anthony Aouni Tamer, born in 1957, is an American billionaire businessman and the co-founder and co-CEO of H.I.G. Tony Tamer is married and a father of four daughters. His wife, Sandra, holds a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and serves on the boards of Action Against Hunger, the RMF Foundation, the PAMM Museum, and the Tamer Center for Social Enterprise at Columbia University. Tony Tamer began his career at Hewlett-Packard in various engineering, marketing, and production positions before working at Sprint Corporation. He later joined Bain & Company in 1986 and eventually became a partner, working there until 1993. The new funding enabled the launch of a seed investment fund for social entrepreneurs, the expansion of credit assistance and summer internship programs for social enterprise students, and the development of a consulting network for Columbia’s social entrepreneurs.
